Update by John Peterson, Managing Attorney, FBR.
The journey of a whistleblower can be a lonely road, but a recent award shows that when reporting corruption, you don’t have to go it alone. The Office of the Whistleblower awarded $50 million to a pair of whistleblowers who decided to report corporate misconduct together. The Office noted that the two individuals had provided numerous interviews and documents which led to millions being returned to harmed investors. A great illustration of how whistleblowers can work together to bring corruption to light.
