If you ever wondered what’s the most a whistleblower can recover, there is no upper limit on the payout. But if you were wondering what the record is, it was $114 million paid to an individual in October 2020. What is interesting about this award is that the Office of The Whistleblower noted that the individual had reported the wrongdoing internally at their company, and had faced serious personal and professional hardships as a result. However, all was not in vein, as the Office took these factors into account when awarding the massive payout.
